I am an experienced clinician in a wide number of settings and have expertise in all aspects of psychological functioning, including cognitive, emotional, behavioural, spiritual, and intellectual dimensions. Psychologists assess, advise, and assist people to improve their life adjustment and functioning. I work with both adults and children.

People often consider seeing me when:

They feel an overwhelming and prolonged sense of sadness and helplessness, and they lack hope in their lives.

Their emotional difficulties make it hard for them to function from day to day. For example, they are unable to concentrate on assignments and their job performance suffers as a result.

Their actions are harmful to themselves or to others. For instance, they drink too much alcohol and become overly aggressive.

They are troubled by emotional difficulties facing family members or close friends.

Typical presenting problems to my practice may include:

Anxiety disorders

(panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, phobias, health anxiety)

Depression, mood related problems

Eating disorders

Stress and coping skills

Work related problems and staff development

Interpersonal and relationship difficulties

Personal growth

Sexual difficulties

Chronic pain

Grief and loss

Trauma

Adjustment to and coping with illness and disability

Sleep difficulties

Pregnancy, fertility and post-partum issues

Gender issues

Behaviour difficulties in childhood e.g. bedwetting, tantrums

Development concerns e.g. learning, social skills, independence

Teenage difficulties

When talking to me all information will be treated with full confidentiality. No information will be given to anyone unless your permission has been obtained. The only exception is when there is a concern that a client or another person may be in danger of harm.
